To ensure that the research conducted by Central European University (CEU) authors - whether as faculty members or as a student -is recognized and evaluated accurately, it is essential that authors clearly identify CEU as their institutional affiliation in all publications.

This policy applies to all individuals who are part of the Central European University (CEU) community, including faculty members, staff, and students. It also includes emeriti who continue to be affiliated with CEU, visiting researchers who work with CEU for a limited duration and post-doctoral researchers who are part of ongoing projects.

This policy applies to any publication made during affiliation with CEU, in all public events attended in a professional capacity, and publications. These include but are not limited to journal articles, presentations, working papers, conference proceedings, books, chapters, posters, and the like.

January 28, 2022 P-2106-1v2203 - CEU Policy for Increasing the Representation of Women as Faculty

This policy applies only to those academic units where women as faculty are underrepresented. When an academic unit has reached a ratio of 50% women in each academic rank (assistant, associate, and full professorships), and there is no longer an underrepresentation of female faculty, the unit will be exempt from the obligation to follow this Policy for subsequent hires so long as gender balance is maintained.

This policy finds its legal basis in the Austrian Federal Constitution (B-VG), in particular its Section 7, the Austrian Equal Treatment Act (B-GlBG) and the Private Universities Act (PrivHG).

This Policy applies to all areas of University operations and programs. It applies not only to conduct within the buildings used by the CEU Group (including the CEU Residence and Conference Center and other dormitory facilities that may be provided by the CEU Group), but also to CEU Group-related activities that may occur elsewhere, such as on field trips, at CEU Group-sponsored events, at occasions related to the educational mission of the CEU Group. It also applies to conduct occurring outside any of these places if it happens between members of the University Community and affects their performance in CEU Group activities.  The Policy applies to the conduct of all Employees (including temporary and part-time employees) and all Students, as well as to the conduct of those who are guests of or who do business with the CEU Group.

POLICY STATEMENT
Central European University (“CEU”) recognizes that trafficking in persons is inherently harmful, dehumanizing, and contrary to CEU’s mission and values. CEU has a zero-tolerance policy for trafficking in persons and is committed to high standards of ethics and integrity and compliance with all laws applicable to CEU and CEU Affiliates (as defined in 3.1).

BACKGROUND
CEU has developed this Anti-Trafficking in Persons Policy (“Policy”) and Compliance Plan for Combating Trafficking in Persons (“Plan”) in accordance with the “Trafficking in Persons (April 2016)” clause of the US Agency for International Development (“USAID”) Standard Provisions for US Nongovernmental Recipients. The Plan is an inseparable Annex to the Policy.
